“In order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that shaped you.” ~Andrea Dykstra

Note to self: Love yourself for every thing you’ve come through. Love yourself even if you have to pretend in the beginning. Begin to like yourself and then over time you can see that you will grow to love yourself. Yes you will! Learn to forgive yourself and be patient in the process of reshaping your thoughts to believe better things about yourself.

Sticky Note Love

Write sticky notes to yourself and place them everywhere you can. Put them in your car, in your work desk, on your bathroom mirror, on your coffee maker and every where in between. Say nice things to yourself daily and remind yourself how far you’ve come and how much farther you can go. Be present in the beauty of it all. Be a friend to the parts of yourself that have a hard time trusting others. Be the person who rallies for you and enjoy the journey even when it sucks. Embrace the bad days knowing the good days will be back very soon. Always remember-everything changes. The clouds will go away and the sun will come out tomorrow, or the next day or the next, but it will always come out again.

Self-care Without Shame

Treat yourself to more than organic kale and green smoothies. Treat yourself to cupcakes and pizza while vowing to return to the gym on Monday. Indulge in Netflix with your cat, or dog, and inhale every blissful moment. On off days seek the shelter of a good book and a great cup of coffee while ignoring the mental pestering of what else you “should” be doing. Ignore the world and pay attention to your heart, your mind, your body and your soul.

You Must Remember Your Worth

Remember, you’re not a tree, you can move. You’re not broken, you’re a mosaic that is made from pieces of who you were and who you are now. Your eyes are the light of your soul and your flames of desires need to be fanned for the brilliance of your dreams to catch fire. You are capable of more than you think and stronger than you feel. You are powerful, lovely and just who you need to be. You’re right on time and in the perfect spot to experience the power of serendipity. Your stars are aligned and your future is beckoning you to come forward.

Above all, remember there are never any mistakes, only lessons and blessings. If you can find the beauty in both of them, you will have come home to yourself. Remember who you are so you can be who you want to be. Write it down until you can remember if you’ve forgotten how wonderful you truly are.

XO to all!

Rebecca-who will always use sticky notes to remember.
