Cracked Up-Movie Showing

Please Join Us for An Evening of Film & Fun in Support of Trauma Awareness right in our backyard-Sarasota, FL. Anyone who knows me knows that I have put my heart and soul into supporting trauma awareness and the Trauma Informed Care (TIC) movement to help those who suffer with the aftermath of trauma. My passion is to support those who are on the front lines of awareness which includes my life’s work, my upcoming book, my public speaking events, and all community service events as part of the ongoing solution in helping others process trauma in order to live their best lives. This movie brings trauma and all facets of what happens afterwards to the public in a very powerful way. Cracked Up talks of ACE Scores-Adverse Childhood Experiences, TIC-Trauma Informed Care, and highlights the work of Bessel van der Kolk, whom I adore. I am so excited to have the opportunity to share our life’s work with those who desire to join us on the front lines of trauma awareness. Join us as we detail how you can be part of the solution right along with us and our community partners. Together we can all make a huge difference in the lives of those who need our help. EMAIL: “As the ACE study has shown, child abuse and neglect is the single most preventable cause of mental illness, the single most common cause of drug and alcohol abuse, and a significant contributor to leading causes of death such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, stroke, and suicide.” Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma “As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.” ― Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma *Get YOUR Tickets Here!*

“We have learned that trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain, and body. This imprint has ongoing consequences for how the human organism manages to survive in the present. Trauma results in a fundamental reorganization of the way mind and brain manage perceptions. It changes not only how we think and what we think about, but also our very capacity to think.” Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
