Waves of Life
"Sit in reverie, and watch the changing colors of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind." ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
With the ebb and flow of life, I am reminded that everything is temporary. When I need to face my illusions, I am intuitively drawn to the oceans shore. Regardless of being greeted by sun or by storm, I am mysteriously moved like the pull of the moon on the tides. I have no choice but to fully submerge my body in the water as it craves to be lulled by the rocking motion of the waves.
I completely surrender to the sensation of being cradled in the womb of mother earth. Like the sensual call of the Sirens to the sailors, my naked soul is beckoned by the force of my inner song. It is here, in the safety of the sea, that loud thoughts are allowed to churn restlessly until I am restored to a peaceful state of being.
The turbulence of my overactive mind is now calm. My tears of confusion have returned to their salty home, clarity has surfaced, and I am made anew by the powerful energy and wisdom of the ocean. This vast wonderland of tranquility is truly my home; it is the place where my soul goes when it feels lost everywhere else.
"The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination, and brings eternal joy to the soul." ~Robert Wyland
